project Specifics
Reinstating raw water storage and automated pump control
The Gladstone Area Water Board’s infrastructure at Boat Creek Pump Station consists of a 36ML raw water storage reservoir and pump station. In 2002 the reservoir was decommissioned and the pump station reconfigured for delivery of potable water to another reservoir using new, smaller pumps.
In 2012, it became necessary to increase security of supply to customers in the northern region of the raw water network.
About the Boat Creek Pump Station
The Boat Creek Pump Station is a key component of Gladstone’s raw water network, designed to store and transfer large volumes of water for treatment and supply.
Its reinstatement was vital to increase capacity, provide redundancy, and improve the resilience of potable water delivery across the region.
