End-to-end E&I design for 1MW geothermal pilot
Our Team supported the 1MW Habanero Pilot Power Plant at Innamincka, SA, delivering a $1M Electrical & Instrumentation scope for a geothermal pilot drawing heat from ~4 km underground in the Cooper Basin. We provided the design, specifications and commissioning support needed to prove the process of transporting geothermal heat to surface to generate electricity.
Result: a validated, zero-carbon baseload generation pilot with robust controls and power systems.
About the Habanero Pilot Plant
The plant demonstrates closed-loop geothermal power generation. Water is pumped at high pressure into deep granite fractures, acting as a vast heat exchanger. The heated water is brought to the surface where its heat is extracted to produce electricity, then the fluid is recirculated underground to sustain the cycle.
As a geothermal system, it offers the promise of reliable, round-the-clock, zero-carbon baseload energy.

Outcome
